C & L intake manifold

http://www.bamachips.com/store/index...roducts_id=214

I missed this one, so does anyone have some scoop on this mod. I had heard about a year ago someone was making a better intake manifold, can't remember who, but it was not C & L.

Again what mods do you need to really make this work for your NA car. I read what I could find and it really is for the sc and new cnc heads. Since the runners are shorter, it should fit under my old BMR brace. It also includes the CMVC plates (that saves ya 280.00 off the top, so you are spending 600 for the intake).

Who had used it, like - not like, etc

I've seen 3V owners test it on various combos. None have been positive.

Second thread is from 2008, that's the old manifold.

The new one will give you about 20. People with heads, stroker kits, cams, etc, that are close to 400 but not there yet, this will probably get you there. FI gets between 40-50hp from this manifold. NA won't get more than 20-25.

I have read what I can and from what I read, unless you have a CNC head/cam set up or better, you are really wasting your time.

I wonder with my future set up (Cam, LT, Tune) would I benefit the 20hp or would it get watered down to day 5 - 10.

I don't think it would get watered down that much. Bottom line is Ford did good with the stock manifold, is not restrictive like in older models. There isn't a whole lot of room for after market manifolds to improve what came from factory, unless you are heavily modified or FI.

If you are put off by the price of the heads and can't do the head swap yourself you can add another $1,500 for labor to due the work. This modding stuff is not a cheap thing.

Not really the price on the heads but I know the install and tune after will kill me. I have spent some money already, most expensive was the LT headers and x pipe in one shot.

I have a C&L on my car and LOVE it! The first thread that was posted was mine. It was the preproduction intake there. I have the new production intake on my car and it feels the same as the forst one up to about 5200 and now it feels a little better from 5200 to 6200 when I shift. I picked up 7 peak RWHP and 10 rwhp at 5700 rpms. Thats over the delete plates. So they make power and if you are wanting every little bit of power I think they are worth the money. You can do what you want but I'm glad I bought the C&L. I'm installing cams now and I can't wait till I get them in and see how this car pulls with the cams.

Look at it this way. If you buy the C&L and it dynoed tested makes power on pretty much stock engines and then everything you do after that will just make it better and more power.

Good luck!

What was your current list of mods and your HP that you got after the intake. What type of cams are you looking at installing? The new C & L has the delete plates installed in them already. Please tell me more.

Base run. Max power 298.36 Max Torque 308.55

Mods:

JLT cold air
Roush underdrive pullyes
IMRC delete plates
Magnaflow highflow x pipe
PYPES axle back
3.90 gears
Roush short throw shifter
Dougs @ BamaChips 93 RACE tune

After C&L intake:

1st run. Max Power 305.77 Max Torque 304.73
2nd run. Max Power 305.73 Max Torque 306.44

Mods:

C&L Intake (Long Runner) Has not been sent back for the short runner change.
JLT cold air
Roush underdrive pullyes
Magnaflow highflow x pipe
PYPES axle back
3.90 gears
Roush short throw shifter
Dougs @ BamaChips 93 RACE tune

I'm installing the Stage 2 Comp cams NSR cams. Yes the C&L has the delete plates made in them. All you do is pull the stock intake off with the factory plates and set it to the side and then you install the C&L and get it retuned for the C&L and then you are good to go. You will notice a difference in power. Especially from 5000 up. Below that you won't lose anything. you will just pick up power on the top side.

As soon as I get some extra money. I'm going to get a C&L race and put on my car.

Got any questions just ask.

Well I'm trying now.

As soon as I get my cam cap fixed or whatever I will have them in. Man it sucks not haveing my car running!!!! When you put cams in just make sure the cam is in the right spot so the cam cap won't break!

Yea, I just read it. I am thinking of doing the CMDP also at the same time (thats another 200 bucks and probably an hour of labor, but it might be worth it with the cam swap.
