KONI: Titles On The Line At Utah

Consistency is the hallmark of any championship run, which makes it even more impressive as to why Wilden, of Toronto, has a 20-point lead (266-246) over James Gue and Bret Seafuse. All three have finished in the top 10 in every race this season, but Wilden's No. 59 Rehagen Racing Ford Mustang GT has broke through with two victories (to Gue and Seafuse's one) and six podiums (to Gue and Seafuse's two). An eighth-place finish at New Jersey Motorsports Park serves as Wilden's lowest finish in 2009. With a victory at Miller, Wilden can eliminate five championship contenders.

The Manufacturer's Title is on the line at the Virginia International Raceway final 2009 Koni Challenge race!

Ford (Mustangs) trail BMW by only two points--if a Mustang wins VIR, they'll get 35 pioints and if a BMW finishes second (32 points), Ford will win the 2009 Grand-American Manufacturer's Championship by 1 point!

If the highest-finishing Mustang is second, a BMW will tie if they get a third, but lose if the highest-finishing BMW is fourth.

Mustangs went 1-2-3 last at VIR in 2008, but that was a 6-hour race. This year it is only a 4-hour race, which means the higher-stressed BMWs have a greater chance of finishing than they did in the punishing 6-hour event last year. It was the win at Miller Motorsports Park by a Mustang last week that put the Manufacturer's Championship within reach at VIR--Mustangs trailed BMW by 5 points going into last week's race.

Gooooooooooooooooooooooooo, Mustangs!!!!!!

Anyone know if SPEEDHD is going to have coverage of the season finale race?

AFAIK, the last GARRA Koni Challenge event to be covered by SPEED (delayed, and edited for length) was the race at Miller Motorsports Park, which will be televised on 10/3/09 by SPEED at 1:30 PM, EDT. SPEED didn't cover last year's VIR finale, either...

Mustangs take the Manufacturer's Championship and the Driver's Championship with the win in the season finale at VIR by James Gue and Brett Seafuse in the JBS #37 FR500C! WooHoo!
