Why does the work week leading up to vacation seem to go so dang slow

Freakin' crazy here. This is usually the most miserable heat/humidity of the year (almost August) and when I went out at noon it was sunny, 70 degrees and dry as a bone. Supposed to be in the 50s tonight.
