Just saw Clapton & Friends promo for tribute to JJ Cale 'The Breeze'. Can't believe I was lucky enough to see JJ a few years back at Ginger Rogers Theater about an hour from here. Small venue up close. Even said hi to him out back when he was smoking a cig, but didn't want to be rude so I let him have his space. You know, pre show stuff where you'd rather not be pestered.
Although he was a prolific and excellent song writer, his personal style was low key and laid back. But not in a boring way, one of those low key laid back styles that make your heart race.
My favorite EC stuff over the years has been when he was playing with/emulating Duane Allman (Derek & the Dominos Live in Concert) and JJ Cale.

I just never was a Clapton fan. His best was with Cream. I won't talk too bad about him but I'm not impressed with much of anything he has done.

I know he is known for hot licks on Cream but the songs were stupid. I can't take cream and I'm a die hard.
And studio stuff with Derek and the Dominos was lame for sure. But that Live in Concert album is the shizzle! (Not to be confused with Live at Fillmore the night before.) Why Does Love Got to be so Sad..., Got to get better in a little while..., Have you ever loved a woman..., serious dripping blues lead like no other. Blues Power... funkiest Tell the Truth ever... Let it Rain is great but of course that's the era of 15 minute drum solo's. lol That recording was one of those magic moments in time...
However, it wasn't just Duane influencing him then, you can also hear Delaney & Bonnie... whom I dam near worship. Delaney & Bonnie's "Come on in my Kitchen" with Duane on slide STILL makes me mess my breeches. Which I believe was only available on Duane Allman Anthology II album. (Still one of my lifetime favorite albums along with D&DLIC)
(Watched original Vanishing Point a while back and forgot D&B were on it! lolol )

His JJ Cale stuff was a different style but way cool in my book.

You know the acts I'd like to see before it gets too late? Might sound crazy, but I'd like to see the Rolling Stones, Eric Clapton, and Prince.

If Clapton ever organizes another Crossroads, and tickets aren't completely outrageous, I'm going. I watch the old ones over and over again. It's amazing to me to see all the superstar power on stage at once.

With all of the crazy dreams I've been having (lots of British talk in them, must be from the Top Gear I watch on Netflix) and it leads to hyper-sexual things I dream (crazy car stuff intertwined with sex stuff) and the sexual stuff is all I can think of when I see cars, I can't help to think about Nate. He loves cars and he isn't with a woman or has no desire to be with one, but loves cars.

Must be the most frustrating thing ever. That is the way I feel in these dreams. Wake up with a raging boner and all I have been dreaming about is cars.

And freaky sex.

And killing a lot of people.

I've been seeing this commercial lately and just noticed something in it that made me laugh.

The little guy in the back raising hell and she uses the "Noise Cancelling Glare"

It was alright. Didn't like where they had the crowd standing. No barriers or anything. I didn't stick around long.
