I just read about a Dickey's Barbecue Pit restaurant opening soon by me has anyone ever been to one and are they any good? There are 400 of them in 42 states.

If there's 400 of them I can guarantee you its not good BBQ, or what people down here consider real BBQ. You don't get GOOD bbq at a chain restaurant. I imagine it will be the equivalent of Sonny's , and no self respecting Southerner would set foot in a Sonny's to get BBQ.

Just 4 walls, a roof, a couple screen doors, and a huge smoker out back with a big pile of wood next to it.

That's where you're going to come across good bbq.

There are Dickey's all over TX. I would rate them as fair to good bbq. But nothing to go out of your way for.

Sitting here waiting on the liberal media to converge on us and go ape**** with wild stories about rivers of blood flowing through the streets.

i agree.. I can drop you off at 6 places just as you described that are amazing. Or I'll cook it at home. Never forget tho, driving to work, took a back road and was through a sketchy area of town. Saw some guys with a drum style cooker selling ribs (at 7:30 in the morning), bought a slab and took to work for myself and the guys. Holy hell was it good.
