Don't call these guys a$$hats because most true car guys love it. The problem is inexperienced drivers making stupid mistakes. The best thing would be if organizers set up the exit so there is no other traffic or danger to onlookers. You're NEVER going to get car guys to stop revving. Might as well make it safe & enjoyable!
A guy who does burnouts or donuts with other people in that close proximity with that little experience is an asshat. Truth be told, 9 of 10 people driving these cars have no idea how to control burnouts or donuts and have no business doing them. Rev your engine all you want; you do burnouts like the guy in the video, you're an asshat. Period.

My point exactly. Not everybody who gets on it leaving a car show is an a$$hat.

Yeah, all of them are. They have their fun for 10-15 seconds, and ruin everyone else's forever afterwards. How is that not being an a$$hat? I hold these idiots with the same esteem I would give to street racers...

That guy got it all wrong. I think he could have saved it if he was a little bit better driver. What a noob!

Just saw this. Wow.
Reminds me of one of the saddest car shows I've ever been to. Long story short: an 03-04 sonic blue cobra vert did the same thing at a car show in Anchorage, Alaska....Except he ran over a young man head on who was crossing at a walk.

Someone's son lost their life that day because of a middle aged (yep) idiot showing off. Still hurts to think about it and it was years ago.

I never understood doing (illegal) burnouts/donuts/etc. at car shows. Some have dedicated areas to do it (one had the exit set up where you could do a short burnout before leaving), some don't...if they don't then don't freakin' act like a jack ****.

If there isn't a dedicated area to do such activities, it's VERY unsafe. Lots of bystanders, lots of risk of injury or death, and it risks future events.

Immediately after thinking "holy hell that thing sounds awesome!" was "holy hell he almost hit that guy standing there!".

In this context, not at all. We've had several local meets shut down because of a$$hats doing this kind of crap. One place even started charging money to participate in an attempt to keep the idiots away. The meets that are still running have been overrun by cops (including our local Cars & Coffee event). At one of the last meets I went to, the cops showed up with a small fleet of tow trucks, and they were towing cars that were stopped for doing stupid sh|t.

And it's all because of the idiots that feel a compelling need to do burnouts.

Yeah, it's a load of fun - not.

Hey, the crowds usually love the burn-outs and cheer on the drivers...

...until something goes wrong. Then that same person who was cheering just a moment ago says about the guy who crashes: "he's an a$$hat."

Common sense & just a little driving skill would make this whole thread disappear. You're really gonna plant the long pedal while your front wheels are turned and expect to go straight? What an a$$hat.

few weeks back, we had a car meet which almost 100+ beautiful cars showed up and then 20 minutes into the meet... somebody in a stock truck started doing burn outs and in no time cops all over the car meet and asked us all to leave. sadly organizers could do nothing about it.
