Sooooooo I wrecked my stang at the track about a week ago and now I'm on the hunt for another car. I have about $10,000 to spend, any suggestions? The bf wants me to get a fox, but I'd much rather get a model A roadster, 54 shoebox, or something close to that. Any ideas on a new project??
The only advice that I can give you is that you should get what you want. If you settle for something else you will never be happy with it. It may also start to lead you to regretting things. JMHO
Sounds to me like a great down payment on a new 412 hp 6 speed Mustang GT! JMHO. Just be careful this time! That way you get a car under warranty and properly engineered and backed by Ford versus an old car NOT under warranty and you take your chances with someone elses engineering skills! If it's going to be driven on the street even in moderation, you have insurance to consider and must weigh that into the equasion! Which is more economical, a street rod or a factory built car with all the safety equipment incorperated?! The insurance company will give the factory built car the approval a bit quicker!

Yes yes! True. My old s197's insurance was through the roof, mainly because I'm only 19, so although i would love a new GT, the insurance may be more. I had totally forgotten about insurance, maybe the fox is more reasonable after all? lol

MAYBE, provided first of all , can you wrench on your own car,(that' where the warranty comes in) and, if in your state, do you get a big enough break on your rates because you have the latest in safety devices built into your car? The Fox might cost you MORE for insurance in the long run because the S197 has ABS brakes the Fox doesn't! The S197 has Traction control, the Fox doesn't! The S197 has side airbag curtains in case of a side collision or roll-over, the Fox doesn't! That is what the insurance companies want now! SAFETY equipment! No matter what the insurance costs, your safety is what counts and if you doubt that, just ask your family! Yeah, It's a car payment and MAYBE more insurance, but you are in a new safer car with a warranty! The extra cost is worth your life and future! Look at it this way... you are eliminating future negative outcomes that might be life threatening! Sure, you messed up wrecking you "07 Mustang, and it's gonna cost you ... but you may have been worse off in the Fox body car! and STILL not be able to talk about it! I like the fox cars a TON, but they cant begin to compare to a S197 car in ANY category!! The S197 is FAR better!

Thanks for the advice, sooo true. The s197 did just what it was meant to do during the crash, probably why I was only sore after...
