Maybe Switching to a "Grown Up" Car

I love my current 2012 mustang gt, but after a couple of years with her and doing all that I can (without the wife wanting to kill me), I feel maybe thats its time to get something a little more "grown up." Something at least with 4 doors, but I would still like to have a "fun" car. I know it wont be a 400+hp beast but something with a little pep for some daily fun communiting to and from work/weekend drives. Any suggestions???

Thats the day I m waiting for too.

As for the other suggestions, I thought of a sho and charger srt8, but a little too steep for me. Before I got my mustang I really thought of a G8 GT/GXP, but would really like something new.

So far been thinking of a charger r/t with a blacktop package. I recently saw a 2012 charger srt8 in a dealership near me, but was still asking 40k for it.

G8 is about the only good option in a decent price range. BMW makes some fun cars too just a little more pricy.

Pontiac is dead. Chargers are everywhere and by the way my rental v6 seemed to be falling apart with just 2,000 miles, i wouldn't get anything made by Chrysler. My last car was a 2007 Dodge, all kind of problems, it was a piece of crap .

If i were looking for a 4 door car i would buy a Taurus. A SHO Taurus would be a nice choice but you already know they cost a lot. Just my opinions

Charger R/T. You can get one loaded for $32k out the door. "Chrysler is garbage" blahblahblah. Go test drive one. You'll have a blast. Their red interior is really nice too.

I totally agree. I would never buy a Dodge or Chrysler vehicle. While very nice many are, they are pieces of garbage and crap. I would buy a Government Motors (GM) vehicle before I went with Chrysler or Dodge. I think a Taurus SHO would rock. The new Chevy SS has over 400 hp and its 4 door. Nice looking car.

Well i dont think I would go with a gm product over anything because everyone I ve ever known who has or owns a gm has had problems. Although I have test drove a charger rt and a ram rt and liked both, dodge/Chrysler/ram has always made me a little wiery because i dont know much about their reliability or durability, just what i ve heard. Maybe a used sho with little mileage wouldnt be a bad idea.

What I believe the comment was directing at is the OP needs more of a vehicle to accommodate a family. A grown up car too fit his family because I bet he or she has children. Senior's typically don't have young kids and their kids are adults. That's how I took the comment and thread topic too mean.

Mustang based 4 door sedan, Taurus SHO, Charger srt8, 300 srt8, cadillac crs-v sedan/wagon. These are the only things i trade or sell the mustang in for. In fact i may be getting an rt charger by the end if the year. Got a kid on the way so the extra 2 doors would be immensely helpful. Plus its a **** good looking car!

Lol my buddy got one last year. I think I want to get one too. For $32k loaded, the R/T is a ridiculous bargain. He paid $30k out the door, but didn't get the sunroof or 20s on the R/T Max. Still, he has heated leather (red), navigation, HIDs etc.

The one im lookin at is an rt max. Black, 20" chrome five spokes. Heated/cooled leather seats and cupholders, darkest legal tint all around, premium sound system with 3 12" subs in the trunk (will probably take two out and get a new box). Every option but No sunroof (real killer lol) and used with 32k miles. Dealer is askin 30k but willing to negotiate, and i talked em down to possibly 28-29k. Spotless interior, pretty good extarior appearance, just needs some TLC and itll look brand new. My mustang is worth 15k on trade in and payment would be worked down to 380 a month (lowest theyd go). Im seriously tempted.

Yeah, I knew what he meant. I was just foolin with him. The Mustang is not family friendly. I got my first one when my kids were in middle school. Traded with a dodge caravan. The smaller one sat in the back. Husband F-250 crew cab truck became the family car.
