I searched, and didn't find anything on this subject...

I was wondering if anyone knows if there are roof racks available for the 05. Specificlly...for surfboards.

thanks!

get a convertible... it seemed to fit real well in the concept pictures.
other than that.... I can't tell you, brutha. Perhaps you're going to have to go with a 6' board and drop the seats...

Don't think there's any out yet, I contemplated getting one for my 2000 for bikes and fishing poles but never found one that I really liked.

Yes, please drill holes into your car. Remember, measure twice cut once.

Hey Richard..........start Bodyboarding everything will fit inside. You can fit the board and a bag with the duffel with the towel, wetsuit, etc..... If I am going to take the longboard out it goes in the back of the truck. Good luck on your search my friend. How has the surf been lately anyway, I haven't looked at Surf line cams from Southern California lately.

There are ones for just about every car make that don't require drilling, just use a series of pads and clamps. Give it time and I'm sure they'll be out soon.

Yeah I agree, buy something to haul that surfboard. Plus where would you keep the key? My F250's key can go in the wetsuit just clean it off w/ fresh water before sticking it in the door. The stang key will be ruined I think if it hits salt water, I could be wrong. I always keep my keys on me never put them in a bag and leave it on the beach, to many trolls like to steal them.

1. Hide a key. works great

2. I DO NOT sponge. Sorry...thats like asking me to drive a chevy.

3. Yes, I want something WITHOUT drilling. Clamps and such.

You can get Yakima or Thule Racks for your 05. Both manufacturers have the measurements you need, it requires no drilling and they are removable in less than 10 minutes. Here is a pic of my 03 GT with Yakima racks. I highly recommend you get thule racks though. They have a surf board carrier called the hang 2. I modified it for my Yakima racks. I use it for mountain bikes, surfboard, beach cruisers etc. YOU HAVE TO BE VERY METICULOUS about removing and placing them as they can be akward and heavy if you take them on and off. I would also recommend getting some type of film like the 3M film like they use for the front bumper/hood, and placing it where you put the clamps and wind fairing footing because it is easy to scratch the paint. You also don't want to drive 100mph + b/c you will push the racks back scratching the paint. I learned all this the hard way!!! but the racks make the car much more versatile. You will have to get a wind fairing. expect your gas mileage to drop about 5 mpg also if you never take them off. I hope this info helps, but if you need more info...drop me a line as i don't always check the forums. dsbpt2002@hotmail.com
PS..You can buy my Yakima racks they won't fit on the 05 GT vert i am ordering!!!

It's not in the pic, but it carries this 6'6 board and my 7'8 funshape flawlessly.......as i cruised the state during the hurricanes searching for the offshore winds!!!!
