My wreck on Feb 27th. Only a 1 or 1.5 stars.

I wreck my mustang yesterday (or Wednesday). Just wanted to share the pictures. Only thing hert is the Wallet.

I think Progressive estimate was $3900 or $4900. The car is at a Ford body shop and is in the Progressive network. I signed the paper for the dealership to start the work and Progressive will pay the bill minus my $500 detuctable and rate increase.

That is a drag man. It will be fixed in no time.

Maybe time for a CS front bumper upgrade?...

That sucks man.

That's the reason I spent the extra $4,000 and bought a 99 explorer 4x4. It's sad that my baby has been sitting in the garage since mid-November, but every time I see a wrecked Mustang because of the snow it makes it all worth it.

I had to break out the snow blower this week and saw her sitting in the garage all shiny just waiting for a run.

This just furthers the case for a second car vs the S/C! I know I'm still in the south but who knows with the navy. I could be up north soon. Blasted mother nature!

Hope she gets well soon bud!

Details of the wreck.

I have been very busy and have not gotten much sleep. Here is what happen.

I was on the highway going about 65 MPH. I thought I was OK with snow tires plus 4 giant utility vehicles just passed me about 5 minutes prior to the wreck.

Going over a bridge my car was on what seemed to be pure ice. The front started going right and I took my foot off the gas petal and made a sharp turn to the left. I know you are supposed to steer into the turn but I was afraid of the cement wall on the right. After making a sharp turn to the left my car front went left. This time I was afraid of hitting the left cement barrier so I made a sharp turn to the right. After turning right, the front of my car spun right and started heading straight into the wall on the right side of the road. I new I was going to hit the wall this time so I aim at the wall straight on which I was off about 2 to 3 feet off towards the passenger side. Then I started to almost cry but was able to hold back the tears.

Man, no Mustang should have that much snow on or under it. These cars are not meant for snow, I don't care what anyone says. I have had 3 previous model Mustangs and they all sucked in the snow.

If the ground is white, mine stays in the garage.

PS, too bad for your ride, that sucks too.

Just picked it up on Tuesday. Looks like it got fixed. The Toyota Prius to the left was my rental that I left at the Ford Dealership.

Yeah bridges seem get ice on them and once you've lost traction on ice, it doesn't matter if you're 4WD, FWD, or RWD, nothing's going to help you. Entrances and exits to tunnels get really icy too.

It's a good thing you were able to avoid major damage and I'm glad to see your car is all fixed up...

ANS. M3

Sorry for the slow response. Here are the details of the tires:
235/55HR-17 Dunlop Winter Sport M3 which cost me 173 * 4 = 692 from Tire Rack.

I also bought rims with the tires which cost me 104 * 4 = 416.

The tires are very good in the snow. They just do not work on ice that well.

Edit:
For Ice, see comment above by

I am buying a new gadget to prevent future wrecks.
La Crosse Technology WS-9013U Wireless Temperature Station
http://www.amazon.com/Crosse-Technol...dbs_sg_title_8

Many times at night, I will be driving in the rain and the roads will turn to ice. I will use the temperature sensor to check for freezing conditions.
