So my drivers side front brake creaks... It creaks when the car is on and stopped and you push the pedal down. It creaks when the car is off and stopped and you push the pedal down. NOW what have I done? I have replaced the pads. Nothing. Cleaned the guide pins and re-lubed with the proper lube. Nothing. I bleed the brake system. Nothing. So removed the caliper and pads and pumped the pedal and noticed that one piston moved in while the other was more reluctant to move. I pushed them back in and tried again. Same result. Is this my caliper going bad? Thanks

I have the same thing happening. I haven't bothered to investigate it yet, but it seems like a caliper issue for sure. I figured it's just time to replace it.

If one piston doesn't move, then you have a problem. Get a new caliper.

my wifes 07 is creaking on the drivers side caliper too... I'd just replaced rotors/pads a couple months ago, pistons were free...will tear into it soon.

Possibly related question...how is yall's brake pedal feel? Really touchy? Goes to the floor? Somewhere in between?

I ask because mine practically goes to the floor on a full stop, and I've been trying to figure out exactly what the cause is. It's slowly gotten worse over the years, and I've had enough of it.

To the floor indicates a leak somewhere, or possibly air, and on the outside a bulging brake hose. It should firm up about halfway at least.

You need to have it checked out yesterday, because safety, man.

I don't have any trouble stopping the car, there's just a lot of pedal travel. I'm definitely looking into it. I had the brake fluid flushed earlier this week because I suspected air, but it only helped slightly, if at all. I guess replacing the lines is next. After a decade, I figure this is all good preventative maintenance anyway.

I have a 06. I did the brakes and made sure to lube the back of the pads and the glides. No more creaks. Make sure not to use to much. Bleeding the brakes is key to pedal feel. Also the type and manufacture of the pads will make a big difference.

Check for seized caliper brake pins. Especially the rears if winter driven.

kind of an old post but ill give an update. I changed the front drivers caliper and that fixed the creaking problem. Like i said before one of the pistons on the old caliper was not moving freely. Its been about a month and now the passenger side caliper is doing the same thing! So i'm gonna order one. Just a side note for anyone that buys a used caliper like i did (I does have a 3 year warrantee) when I ordered it, the web page said it was for a GT but when i got it I noticed it was for a V6. The Part with the piston fits so I could use it but the part that actually connects to the car is just a bit to small. No worries tho it all worked out.

hmm...NTO still has new takeoff calipers, maybe I should order a couple...thinking about getting the gt caliper slides for the wifes car and putting the bigger rotors on while were at it.

Nope .... just means one piston moves a hair easier than the other.
