Dieing putting in gear

Hey you all, new to the mustangs and this forum.. I used to be into boosting Hondas, but u can only get so far doing so.. So I've Always have wanted one and now I got one and im in love, it's a 97' GT automatic, with new gears 373 (idk if that's right correct me if in wrong, rebuilt tranny, cold air, no cat, and flow master exhaust.. It has a SCT tuning software and I need to learn more about that..

But it keeps dieing when I put it into reverse or drive, maybe it's in the tune? Or what else could this possibly be.. And again; I'm new to this so sorry if I put the wrong thing down.. Thanks in advance for the help!!

Well try putting it back to stock tune first. Is it idling really low or running rough? Surging? Needs a little more info.

Tuner should walk you through it. It's not that difficult. Otherwise low idle might be IAC. Dunno man.

I guess the tune is set up for 91 octane gas... But if I tune it back to stock, will everything run fine? And I can just get regular gas?

Just put it back to stock and see if it will idle. Just to make sure it's not a tune problem.

Just follow the prompts on your tuner man. Should at least 2 tunes stored in it.

And I guess the guy that got gas for the car said he got ethanol, and when he did he forgot he didn't use any ethanol, and it started dieing on him when he did get that gas..

Correction: He would use non ethanol on it and it never died, but since he put ethanol in it to sell it, it started dieing..

When I first read this today I thought converter lock up myself, or vacuum leak, or....

what is the ethanol ratio? you may have to drain teh tank and start over to rule it out.
