373 gears
I have a 98 gt automatic with OD..im doing gear swap in a week or 2..Going with 373's. the car is basically stock execpt for a bama tune and k&n filter. Would 355 been the better choice considering the short power band or will 373 be the better choice in the long haul since i hope to make other improvments...happy forth boys

I'm guessing that by improvements, you mean like cams, exhaust throttle body etc... in which case will improve top end performance. The idea behind upgrading your gear is to allow your car to reach its direct drive gear quicker while still being tall enough to carry that gear until you pass the 1/4 mile line without having to shift into the (cruising gear). Do what's best for your situation. Remember though, the quicker ration gears you go = less mpg, less streetability, and added stress on your driveline. If its a daily driver I would recommend the 3.55 ratio. If it's your weekend car for joy rides and drag strip fun car, the the 3.73 ratio or even 4.10 ratio gears would be good. I've got a 2001 SVT Cobra with 335rwhp and 4.10 gears. But it's a daily driver and joy ride car and I hate the 4.10 gearing for that purpose... hope this helps!

Yes -it helped a lot thank u.. I sent the 373's back . For now I'm gonna buy other simple bolt on"s like intake spacer and pulleys .. Prob with spacer is now if I want to install strut brace I don't think it will clear -kinda sucks

Don't quote me on this but I don't think you would run into an issue with clearance when installing both a TB spacer and tower brace. The only thing I remember the brace causing a problem with was the A/C fill/bleed valve on a friend's 99gt. So if you ever run into a situation where you need to top off the freon, you might have to remove the brace to do so. But like I said don't quote me on the spacer/brace clearance.

Im with Cobra. Search the forums and there is gear charts. I am not sure what transmission gears you have but you can do the math. If I had to do it again I would go with 3:55. I have 3.73 track car and im shifting to quick.

Hey Jazz man I have an automatic so i think 355 would be overall the best choice. I could Probaly do the 373 or 410 choice because of OD but im more of a highway guy than 1/4 mile...I think its the perfect inbetween..I have 3:08 now so i think it would make a small improvement in acc....

Yeah it will be close on the fit..I have been looking at alot of pics online trying to see and it looks super close. I will call american muscle again and see what they think. But unless they tried it i dont think they will know. But for now i will just install spacer and hopefully upgrade my struts and that should be fine. But if I knew for sure I may just buy the strut bar pretty soon as well.. lol So many options...Just need a bigger bank acccount..lol
