2004 Mystichrome, Built Motor, Single Turbo, 9", TH400, E85 Street Car "BUILD THREAD"
Some of you may have seen the post of my buddies car that we put together last year with just a few kids in a small garage, ended up making 750+and going 10's at 140mph
https://themustangsource.com/f636/wh...-cobra-514623/
Well let's fast forward to now: At the end of last season, on the last pass the car was going to make the "built" T56 ate the bullet, we got into it and found 2nd gear was warped. I helped him with research and it looked like Rockland was going to do the 6 speed build till a BRAND new 400 came up for a price that was so low he jumped on it.
Also, the stock 8.8 let go and to keep with the general "flow" of this build a 8.8 just wasn't worth re-building....a custom 9" was ordered. The specs on the rear are Moser 9", 35 spline axles, 3.27's and a Wave Trac.
We took the motor was down, inspected and found to still be very healthy. The motor is a stock block, stock displacement motor. Other then that it's a built motor from the oilpan to the Sullivan that MV performance built.
The power adder will be a single Precision 76-75, custom hot side, custom cold side, treadstone IC.
Still trying to find Injectors to run this thing, stock ECU still. The car will be a FULL street car, heat/ac, radio and speakers.
I will update this build as it goes with pictures, the car has been 10.2 @ 140 on this motor and the 1st gen 2.3 whipple.
This is a project that just like last time is going to try and make Ocean City "Crusin'" event that is 74 days away
It needs some rear tires
A motor too
The valve covers are PC'd wrinkle black now also

Things are moving a little faster then expected, the rear was "14-28" days out....then today it showed up?
Anyway, the trans will(should) be here in the morning
We are going to try and get the motor and trans in the night the trans comes, the rear the night after...then we can measure for a custom DS.
We will then get the car off the jack stands, fab the cold side, hang the IC.
Then the little odds and ends, getting the clutch pedal out, trans cooler, all the lines, returns, wire everthing and then trailer it to the dyno and see what kind of numbers this pig will make.

We rent a 3,000 square foot shop, then we have a 600 square foot "loft" that has a kitchen(came with it) we added a big table, sofa and stuff like that. It over looks the whole shop. We have tire machines, mounting machines, welder, huge compressor and we are buying a lift before summer we hope.

Nicely done! It's probably something similar I imagine to that epic garage build thread from a few years back on the internet.

This was just after move in so excuse the mess. The cobra is in the back corner, the Honda will be a V8 killer for sure! Looking to make 600+ from a small K series with a single and E85 the grabber blue(Real ford paint code) is a real deal drift car that makes 550ish and the green is a "throw down" car that sees street duty.
Ugh, this is custom
Horrible pictures, but it's warm, has AC and a step up from the one car garage we worked out of last time.

Just a quick update, got the rear in and buttoned up. Still waiting on pads and rotors, but that is a easy task.
We got the pan tapped and welded shut, bungs welded in, then wrapped the hot side in heat wrap.
Still waiting on a last few parts, need the adapter for the trans so we can get the motor back in. That should be here in the morning. Then we will meaure for a DS and have that sent right out to get made. Shifter, crossover tubes, trans cooler, injectors still need to be ordered.
We have 52 days to get done, we hope to have the motor and trans back in the car and have to car on the ground by next Sunday. After that it will leave us with what we assume is another week to fab the cold side. Plus another week to get the car buttoned up.
It'll be very close I assume but I don't see what will really hold us up. I have some pictures I will upload here soon.
