1968 Ford Mustang Supercharger Install & Feedback

I bought the blower in July but as of last night it's finally on! I used a 302 supercharger and manifold and put it on my 351w. I also just bought some firmer trick flow valve springs and installed them.

Today is the first day I've driven it and WOW!!! It is unbelievable how a supercharger can make all of first and half of second gear almost useless lol! The whine almost hurts your ears when your leaning over and revving it by hand, but inside the car it gets drowned out by my exhaust in my tinny cabin.

Thanks! I have been getting more and more brave lately and put my boost gauge in today and have registered 6 pounds of boost. I am experiencing some blower surge but I like the way it sounds

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RXgZ3...e_gdata_player

Here is a video of the surge.

Also I've attached some pics of the adaptor plates to use a 302 manifold on a Windsor.

I bought the blower/manifold used for $1000

302 to 351 adaptor plates with gaskets for $330

Distributor spacer $135

New cap and rotor $50

All said and done with miscellaneous tools hardware and whatnot the whole venture cost me $1750

Yeah I put it together last weekend. It would have been $475 cheaper if I had used it on a 302.

I did a YouTube tutorial just search kjacobson351 or how to install a B&M or weiand supercharger.

I don't see the 144's for sale in summit racing anymore but the larger 170 which is good for a couple more pounds of boost is $2500-$3000

I'm pleased that I registered 6 pounds on my gauge because it means my used 144 is making as much boost as it was when it was new.

Lol maybe, there will be another dyno video this spring for sure. Any ideas on air cleaners that would look good AND flow?

Lol I've watched your carb scoop video a ton, but I dunno. I wish they had a hilborn style scoop that could have bigger than a 3" filter.

I also dig the butterfly action, but from a guy that is usually more go than show I feel like much more air would pass through a completely open scoop than squeezing its way into the butterfly holes and it would subconsciously drive me crazy!

I still haven't had a hood cut yet, and while at McDonald's I picked a seat close to the window where I parked. And at one point there was a group of about 5 men all around my engine bay looking and pointing and smiling. It made my day!

Btw that grill guard MAKES your car i love that thing.

Please tell me it's going back on!

I have my 67 Shelby hood on Craigslist so I can get a hole cut in my stock 67 hood. So I have a garbage bag over the air cleaner and distributor and a sheet over everything. I wish it would sell because tonight is supposed to be the first snow of the year!

I'm thinking about one of these maybe

Lol apparently you can't drive your car sideways down the street.

The officer was awesome he walked in front and looked in my bay before he even talked to me. He said he was a gear head and not a dbag so he was going to let me off. He just told me to keep my fun at a track, then we bs'd about what we think it would run and he was on his way. Cool guy.
