has anyone heard of a C4 FMX trans and is it just an off shoot of the C4 or is it a common trans and what is the advantage of this trans

FMX is a totally different trans.

'07 Alloy Grey Mustang GT "Black Betty"(yes, I know, its not black!!), Auto, 18" Polished, IUP, Mods: Cut (one coil) rear springs, FRPP X-pipe, M/T ET Street D/R's for racing. MRT sequentials, Window tint, Intake plenum cover, Bassani axle-backs, JLT2, BamaChips Tunes, CHE anti-squat brackets.

Other 'stangs: 1966 Mustang coupe w/ 351w, 1984.5 GT-350, both under the resto-mod knife!!!!

C3, C4, and C5 are a group. C6 is a diferent trans. FMX is spearate. AOD is separate.
