Recently I have been having issues with my battery being drained in the morning. After jumping it off first thing in the morning there is no more problems for the rest of the day. I have had the system and battery checked twice at autozone and everything is running properly. The only thing they noticed was a drain on the battery when everything was off. I recently had a portion of the wiring harness replaced (the portion that goes to the crank position sensor). There were no problems before this repair.

I would really appreciate it if anyone could help me pinpoint my issue?

Tough decision... some say do it and others say don't. My current tail lights are scratched and the Saleen bezel covers are partially damaged.

I'm leaning towards it because my old ones are a little damaged and I am able to put chasing lights (not sequential) later on the new ones. Also, the new ones have a black bezel with tinted lenses.

I'm leaning against it because the horizontal lights are unique to just the 94-95's. Years down the road that'll say a lot more than it does now. However, I hardly have a stock part on my car as it sits now. Some also say that it makes the rear end look wider which I can't really tell lol.

I just picked up my new to me 2000 Mustang GT today. It's Bright Atlantic Blue, which is ironically less bright than I was expecting. The first thing that hit me was how beautiful the color is. Really it is the most gorgeous blue I've seen on a New Edge. It's got a the newer hood scoop on it, painted black to match the black Bullitts and black Mustang inlay in the bumper.

When I turned it on it idled flawlessly. That alone had me sold on buying it. Then I drove it, and that just blew me away. It's all stock under the hood except a K&N filter, and it still feels like it pulls way harder than my 94. The only pain in the butt with driving the car is the stock shifter, that made me feel like I was rowing a boat after having the MGW in my car for the last few weeks, but luckily that will swap over without a hitch.

Interior is extremely clean dark charcoal, which should help keep the temps a little lower than the 94 with the real black interior. It also has a pretty good tint in the back, and legal limit in the fronts which should keep temps down too.

My plans so far are to swap the Watts, Konis, MGW, Steeda C/C Plates, and the Cobra brakes from the 94 over to the new one, but that is all subject to change depending on how lazy I get, and how desperate I get to sell the 94. The seats in the 94 do hold me a ton better than the stockers in the 00, but realistically this is a daily driver, and it is not worth the loss in comfort to me to have seats that hold me.

I will have pictures tomorrow, but those of you on Facebook can check out my new profile picture. In the morning I have a three hour drive home to get to know the beast. :metal:

Alternator Kill Switch for Racing?

Finally got the car to the track with the new rear and drag radials and had some pretty good runs. Think my fastest was 13.48 but average was in the mid 13.50’s.

Anyway, the car has always been and still is inconsistent. It can jump around almost a tenth sometimes which makes it tough to bracket race. I’m looking into a couple of ways to make it more consistent from run to run.
One thought is a lower temp thermostat to keep it running cooler. That’s about 20 bucks and about 15 minutes of time so definitely going to do that. The other I got from talking to a bunch of old school guys which was running a kill switch to the alternator so that I could turn it off before a run so it wouldn’t drag on the engine down the track.

Anyone ever try that on our cars? Seen plenty run no alts on race cars but wondering if there would be any issues doing it a mostly street set up?

My daughter with the 03 GT called saying she heard a "screeching" sound after she started the car. Drove it anyways with the noise. She was just going up the street and when she shut the car off the screeching kept on with some smell.

I was out of town so I didn't get a look at it until today and definitely electrical. A little discoloration on the Alt. Batt totally dead so I tried to jump it to see what I had. Cables immediately started to smoke so I pulled em off.

I'm thinking the starter/solenoid shorted/fused to ground and burnt up the alt and drained the batt.

Any other ideas?

Have to tow it to the house tonight and get to work in the AM.
